SUMMARY:The role of associations in shaping practice\, professional development and systems - showcasing good practices from CEE
DESCRIPTION:This webinar brings together career guidance associations from Slovakia\, the Czech Republic\, Hungary and Romania to discuss the role of professional associations in developing the field of career guidance. The event is based on recent exploratory research examining how these organisations support their members\, contribute to national guidance systems\, and interact with policymakers and other stakeholders. \nThe research shows that professional associations play an important but often under-resourced role. They contribute in two main ways: supporting the professional development of practitioners and advocating for the recognition and development of career guidance systems. \nDuring the webinar\, the report will be briefly presented\, followed by short showcases from each association. Each organisation will present concrete practices illustrating how they support the profession in their national context through different activities: training and professional development\, sharing tools and resources\, organising communities of practice\, promoting career guidance\, or engaging with policymakers. \nThe session will also open discussion on common challenges in the region\, including strengthening professional standards\, improving access to guidance services\, building stronger professional communities\, and increasing the visibility and policy recognition of lifelong guidance. \nThe webinar is open to practitioners\, policymakers\, researchers and anyone interested in the development of career guidance systems in Central and Eastern Europe. \nSpeakers: \nSzalai\, Máté graduated as a Human Resources Counsellor from the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the same institution\, where his research focuses on career orientation and human resource management. Alongside his academic endeavors\, he works as a manager in the multinational corporate sector in the field of Learning and Development. He is also actively engaged in career counseling and training delivery\, driven by a deep passion for guiding university students in their career orientation and life-path building. Furthermore\, he participated in several key research projects dedicated specifically to this area of student career development. \nTomáš Šprlák is served as a president of the Slovak Association for Career Guidance and Career Development (ZKPRK) in 2016 – 2020 and is currently a board member. He worked in Public Employment Service where he focused on the design and implementation of guidance and counselling programmes\, in quality assurance and professional development for career guidance practitioners. He has co-authored scholarly work on the ethical challenges and evolution of green guidance\, quality assurance and lifelong learning and guidance systems in Central and Eastern Europe. He currently works as a freelance career counsellor and project manager. \nZuzana Freibergová\, Alice Mullerová are board members of the Czech Association for Career Guidance and Career Development\, leaders of the report on the associations’ activities in the project. \nPlease register before 06/04/2026: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=D5gPWIfzCEuoV1A1erb6mF4k8EEnIz1Moz37PgNrlp9UMEo2NUxCQ00xMkxGN05ETElESUFFT1MwMy4u \nParticipation link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84615108380?pwd=KFVGv5bRKEsVpdTa3kBSREMmFZdE6v.1

SUMMARY:Sustainable and Green Career Guidance in Social and Ecological Crisis – Perspectives from Central and Eastern Europe
DESCRIPTION:Green transition brings with it not only opportunities but also deep inequalities\, ethical dilemmas\, and new risks of exclusion – particularly in the heavily industrialized region of Central and Eastern Europe\, where these transformations intersect with unique historical\, social\, and economic dynamics. Climate change and ecological crisis are physical facts despite the growing climate change scepticism in our region. This rises urgent questions for career guidance professionals: What is our in the face of the climate change and ecological crisis? Can career guidance sector contribute in a meaningful way to the necessary social and economic transformation? How to rethink the paradigm of career guidance to “meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs” ?\n \nThis thought-provoking and practice-oriented session will explore how career practitioners can respond to the green transition not just as an economic shift\, but as a profound social and ecological crisis that demands critical reflection\, inclusive practices\, and a commitment to justice. \nWhy attend?\n– Understand local realities: Learn how the green transition is reshaping labour markets in Central and Eastern Europe (Czechia\, Hungary\, Romania and Slovakia) — and how public perception (climate scepticism\, eco-anxiety\, etc.) reflects deeper social tensions and fears about inequality and future security. \n– Explore tools for critical practice: Discover practical examples of case studies : Monika Bečkeiová from CPPP Veľký Krtíš (SK) about doing green guidance for elementary schools\, Gergély Kiss from Miénk a Pálya (HU) about a comprehensive program for high school students\, Eva Kavková from EKS (CZ) about practical green guidance tools for critical practice. Be introduced to the Exploring Green Guidance Toolbox\, a resource designed to support practitioners in navigating sustainability with social justice at its core. \n– Go beyond “green jobs”: Engage in collective sense-making about the role of career guidance in building not only resilient individuals\, but also just\, democratic\, and sustainable societies – especially in the context of economic inequality\, marginalisation and climate scepticism. \nThis event is targeted at career guidance professionals\, educators\, youth workers\, policy-makers\, and employment counsellors seeking to integrate sustainability into their daily practice. \nThis event will be held in English with translated captions to Czech\, Hungarian\, Romanian and Slovak. \nZOOM Connection : https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83403465413?pwd=gA3zxoXHabJpiIEPouzsb2rq5BQ2fP.1 \nPlease register by 15/06/2025: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/VWxhqtimut

SUMMARY:National Competency Framework for Career Professionals of Finland
DESCRIPTION:The webinar under the Erasmus Plus KA2 initiative is called “Central and Eastern European Forum for Careers Education\, Information\, Advice and Guidance” https://cee-guidance.eu/. Work Package (WP) No. # 3 (organizing professional webinars) of this project addresses the introduction of good practices and innovation in lifelong guidance policy\, system\, and practice design. In the meantime\, under WP 4\, the project will compare the professional standards of the four cooperating countries: Hungary\, Romania\, the Czech Republic\, and Slovakia. The contemporary Finnish framework will be used as a benchmark during the WP4 activity of the project. Before engaging in this project activity\, we want to learn more from the currently available leading-edge standards. Finland developed a new competency framework for guidance professionals in 2022-2023. The project identified the competencies required for delivering guidance services in a variety of contexts. As a part of the project\, the Finnish National Competency Framework for Career Professionals was developed in a co-creation process involving hundreds of career professionals. The competency framework for career professionals consists of three main areas: professionalism\, client work\, and systemic competency. Together\, these three main areas form a strong foundation for the shared competency of professionals working in different settings in lifelong guidance. \nInvited lecturer: Prof. Dr. Jaana Kettunen\, University of Jyvaskyla\, Research professor\, President of the IAEVG https://www.jyu.fi/en/people/jaana-kettunen \nRegistration link for the webinar: 5th of May 2025 5 pm CET via the following link. \nZoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88204948393?pwd=ccb63Vcn6fbSNsnB8CsiQtEVrTawPU.1 \nPracticalities: The presentation will be broadcast via Zoom\, and simultaneous interpretation will be provided via subtitling from English to Romanian\, Slovak\, Hungarian\, and Czech. \n\n\nFurther information \n\nFinnish National Competency Framework for Career Professionals: Assessment Forms: https://jyx.jyu.fi/bitstreams/ce46d348-0782-43fe-a504-d063e49d3404/download\, https://www.jyu.fi/en/projects/national-competency-framework-for-career-professionals\nVuorinen\, R.\, Kasurinen\, H.\, Kettunen\, J.\, Kukkaneva\, E.\, Ruusuvirta-Uuksulainen\, O.
