Career education in school curricula across Central and South-Eastern Europe

This webinar will brings together career counsellors, teachers, and experts from Czechia, Hungary, Romania, and Slovakia who are involved in the integration of career education into school curricula. We will share practical experiences, challenges, and concrete approaches used in different countries.

Speakers:

Petr Chaluš (Czechia) works with the Czech Euroguidance Centre at the National Pedagogical Institute, supporting the development of career guidance and counselling in the Czech Republic. He has contributed to national discussions on integrating career education into school curricula, including work on curriculum reforms and expert groups. His recent work focuses on strengthening career education in basic education, with an emphasis on career management skills and students’ ability to navigate transitions between education and work.

Beáta Ľubová (Slovakia) is an expert in career guidance, particularly in vocational education and training. She is the author of the book Kariérové poradenstvo v odbornom školstve (Career Guidance in Vocational Education), which focuses on integrating career guidance into school practice. Her work is connected to the development of career education and counselling within the Slovak education system, especially in relation to school-based guidance and curriculum approaches.

Tibor Bors Borbély-Pecze (Hungary) is an expert in career guidance, lifelong learning policy, and employment services. He has played a key role in developing lifelong guidance systems in Hungary, including leading national programmes and contributing to European policy work through networks such as ELGPN and ICCDPP. His work focuses on career development systems, career management skills, and the link between education, labour markets, and public policy.
