The webinar under the Erasmus Plus KA2 initiative is called “Central and Eastern European Forum for Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance” https://cee-guidance.eu/. Work Package (WP) No. # 3 (organizing professional webinars) of this project addresses the introduction of good practices and innovation in lifelong guidance policy, system, and practice design. In the meantime, under WP 4, the project will compare the professional standards of the four cooperating countries: Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The contemporary Finnish framework will be used as a benchmark during the WP4 activity of the project. Before engaging in this project activity, we want to learn more from the currently available leading-edge standards. Finland developed a new competency framework for guidance professionals in 2022-2023. The project identified the competencies required for delivering guidance services in a variety of contexts. As a part of the project, the Finnish National Competency Framework for Career Professionals was developed in a co-creation process involving hundreds of career professionals. The competency framework for career professionals consists of three main areas: professionalism, client work, and systemic competency. Together, these three main areas form a strong foundation for the shared competency of professionals working in different settings in lifelong guidance.
