Comparative Analysis of Career Guidance Competence Standards in Central and Eastern Europe – International Mini-Conference
Within the framework of the CEGAAF Erasmus+ project, an international English-language mini-conference will be held under the title “Comparative Analysis of Career Guidance Protocols in Central and Eastern Europe.” The event will take place on 12 February 2026, from 14:00 to 17:00, at Eötvös Loránd University Faculty of Education and Psychology (ELTE PPK) in Budapest.
Why this conference?
The mini-conference aims to present and compare national career guidance and counselling quality standards from four Central and Eastern European countries – Hungary, Czechia, Slovakia and Romania – and to analyse their similarities and differences in relation to the Finnish career guidance competence profiles, widely recognised as a European reference point. We strongly believe that comparative analysis is crucial for the profession. It helps to:
– identify good practices and areas for quality development,
– strengthen common competence frameworks across countries,
– support professional mobility and regional cooperation,
– and improve access to high-quality career guidance services.
Who is it for?
The event is designed for a broad professional audience, including:
– practising career counsellors and guidance practitioners,
– managers of guidance and education institutions,
– trainers and teacher-educators,
– researchers,
– and policy makers.
Beyond knowledge sharing, the conference offers connection points between research, policy and practice, supporting the integration of insights into daily counselling work, training programmes and continuing professional development.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
Registration is open until 8 February 2026 via the online form (link to be added).
