KASPÓ – Together for Successful Career Orientation

KASPÓ is a 30-hour accredited training programme for teachers and social-sector professionals that participants integrate career orientation into everyday educational and social work practice.

Target group:

KASPÓ (Közösen a sikeres pályaorientációért) is an accredited in-service training programme for professionals in education and social services :
– Teachers / professionals (institution heads, class teachers, special educators, school counsellors, etc.)
– Social-sector workers (e.g. family and child welfare services, centers, homes, etc.)

Duration:

Total of 30 hours of training, delivered in 3 sessions of 10 hours each.
– First two sessions: two consecutive days
– Third session: about two weeks later
– In-person participation required
– Group size: 14–20 participants

Inspiration for the tool:

The programme aims to support career orientation processes by embedding them into everyday educational work. It recognises the importance of collaboration among educators, social-sector professionals, and civil actors, and places special emphasis on the role of the family in supporting students’ career choices.

Objectives:

To strengthen cooperation between schools, social service professionals, and civil society in supporting learners’ career decisions.
– To equip participants with the theory, tools, and networks necessary for holistic career guidance.
– To integrate career orientation into everyday pedagogical practice rather than treating it as a separate event.

Resources needed:

– Accredited as a teacher training course (in-service training for pedagogues)
– Qualified trainers and facilitators
– Venue for in-person training sessions
– Organisational support from the Családbarát Magyarország Központ (Family-friendly Hungary Center)
– Free participation for attendees during the project period

Activities:

Main topics covered include:
– Theoretical foundations of career orientation and guidance
– Information resources for career orientation
– Stakeholders and roles in the career guidance process
– The role of the family in career orientation
– Networked cooperation between schools, social services, and the community
– Developing a project mindset for career-orientation programmes

Extension activities:

May include individual counselling for students as part of the wider support framework
– Operates within the larger Családbarát Magyarország project

Reflections/Consolidation of learning:

– Participants receive a certificate or accreditation points upon completion
– The programme focuses on changing everyday professional practice, embedding cooperation and family involvement into education and social work
